The Star Thrower

A man was walking on the beach one day and noticed a boy who was reaching down, picking

up a starfish and throwing it in the ocean. As he approached, he called out, “Hello! What are you doing?” The boy looked up and said, “I’m throwing starfish into the ocean”. “Why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?” asked the man. “The tide stranded them. If I don’t throw them in the water before the sun comes up, they’ll die” came the answer. “Surely you realize that there are miles of beach, and thousands of starfish. You’ll never throw them all back, there are too many. You can’t possibly make a difference.” The boy listened politely, then picked up another starfish. As he threw it back into the sea, he said, “It made a difference for that one.”

American philosopher, author, and educator Loren Eiseley, sums up brilliantly my goal in life: To make a difference, one person at a time.

?

As a Puyallup native, and lifelong resident of the South Puget Sound, I have an intimate knowledge of the region and have watched laid-back towns transform into sophisticated cultural hubs. I truly love Washington!

?

My very first job in high school, ironically, was working in a local Household Finance office. I was not a lender, but spent many hours filing paperwork for buyers seeking help in obtaining a home loan. From Puyallup High School, I headed east of the cascades to study education in Ellensburg. After earning my B. Ed. From Central Washington University and my M. ET. From Lesley College, I began a long career in Elementary Education, Making the Difference in many children’s lives. I have organized a fundraiser, One Child at a Time, and am actively involved in raising funds for Operation Underground Railroad, a non-profit which assists governments around the world in rescuing victims of human trafficking and sex trafficking.

In early 2018, I added the title REALTOR and joined forces with the members of the We Get It Done! team. We hold to the belief that each client deserves the full service and care that only a team of experts can consistently provide. When you hire us, you can expect the personal attention and protection traditionally associated with the client-agent relationship as well as the added advantage of extra professionals at no added cost.

?

A dedication to continuing education has followed me throughout my careers. I have completed countless hours of study in my pursuance of understanding. Most recently I achieved the designation of Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR). Working with buyers, particularly with first time buyers, has provided me a unique opportunity to truly Make a Difference. My number one priority is building relationships with my customers. I pride myself on listening to my clients to discover their wants and needs, and doing whatever it takes to ensure that the buying process is exciting and as stress free as possible. Clients become friends who know they can count on me to do whatever it takes to find them their perfect home.

“Christine was very responsive in helping to search out homes in the area and didn’t complain once when I threw a huge curve ball in the home lineup she had for me, when I completely
wanted to look in a different area”

-Rita J.

On a personal note, I have a gusto for old homes and their distinctive architecture. Combine that with my craving for knowledge and watch out! I will point out every gambrel roof line and transom window in town. My own home is a 100-year old craftsman bungalow on a couple of acres, and I am madly in love with every crooked cranny. I live here with my husband, our 2 German Shepherds and 2 cats. We also have several chickens all with lovely, quirky personalities. Although my son and daughter have moved out, I look forward to the day my grandchildren arrive and delight in this charming old house as much as I do.

“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make”
-Jane Goodall

So, the natural question is: Would you like to work together? Let me make a difference
for you.
