PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
BACKGROUND
Kari recognizes that her role as a loan officer is both highly professional and extraordinarily personal. “Your home is the place where you will build memories with your family, celebrate birthdays, holidays, and milestones. When someone trusts me with the most important and largest purchase in their lives and allows me to look deeply into their personal financial situation, I take that very seriously. My clients are not only my clients, but they become my friends for life.”
From the first-time home buyer to the seasoned investor, Kari has been helping clients with mortgages and refinancing for over eight years, walking them through the process every step of the way. After sixteen years as an Arizona public school teacher, she’s a natural at handholding, a business approach that helps her clients make informed decisions and secure optimal financial solutions. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Northern Arizona University, having earned her master’s degree in education.
For Kari, a 21-year resident of Chandler, work and community are intertwined. She sits on the Citizen Bond Exploratory Finance Subcommittee for the City of Chandler, which is chaired by former Chandler Mayor and current Arizona Corporation Commissioner, Boyd Dunn. This committee consists of forty-nine Chandler residents who serve on subcommittees with a specific area of focus, including the airport, facilities, finance, technology, parks, public safety, and public works.
Kari also sits on the leadership team of Fortis Femina, a local women’s group that’s dedicated to mentoring and empowering female entrepreneurs. She finds it extremely gratifying to guide others in business. “I believe that stems from the educator that lies deep within me. Once a teacher, always a teacher.”
Her caring spirit is layered throughout the community, where she’s a huge proponent of small businesses and heavily involved in local charities and philanthropy. Through her online video series “Get Local with Your Loan Gal,” she interviewed thirty local business owners and entrepreneurs in a talk-show-style format, highlighting their work in the community and the importance of supporting local.
In 2018, Kari was the only mortgage professional vetted into a group of businesswomen in the Phoenix area called The Know Book + Tribe, which features the top female entrepreneurs in the Valley who you must know and do business with. She was selected again in 2019 and 2020.
Kari is also a member of the Chandler Chamber of Commerce and is featured in their 2019 and 2020 Relocation Guides as a preferred partner. She attends the Women in Leadership luncheons regularly and other events as her schedule allows.
Kari credits her parents as her biggest inspiration, instilling in her the courage to pursue and achieve her dreams. “My father was an extremely successful businessman for a global company, and I always looked up to him when I was growing up. He passed in 2001, and much of what I do, and my drive to be the best, is because of his inspiration, my upbringing, and to make him proud of the businesswoman I have become.”
Kari grew up in “a small town in Southern California, and Chandler, though much larger, has pockets where we have the true small hometown feel, even though we are a rather large city. I love my neighborhood and my community.”
