• With two boys finally graduated from college and soon to be on their own, it was time to downsize from a 5 bedroom house to a two bedroom condominium. I met Kathy by chance at a party and discovered that she had once worked with the hostess of the party towards her desire to downsize. I later learned that the upshot of that story is that after looking at all the options, Kathy recommended that my friend was better off staying put rather than buying and relocating. This told me that Kathy had the professional integrity to forgo a possible sales commission if she felt it wasn't in the best interest of the client. At that point, I decided she would be my agent.  In my case, the decision to downsize came nearly a year before I would actually need to make the move, but Kathy would occasionally call and invite me to spend Saturday diving around looking at condos all over Seattle. On one occasion, we viewed 14 different condo's in one day, from Greenwood to Rainier Valley. When the time finally came to begin looking seriously with approved financing in place, Kathy knew what I liked and could focus the search process with laser accuracy. I quickly found the perfect condo, and with Kathy's guidance, negotiated what I thought was an excellent price and was able to close and move in a matter of weeks.
