About Michael
Michael Young is the president and a founder of Infinity Mortgage Group. Mike is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University. He has over 30 years of experience in the mortgage industry, having managed mortgage companies in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Oregon, and now Washington.
Mike was the 2011 Broker Council Chairman for the Washington Association of Mortgage Professionals, and he was a WAMP board member for nearly ten years. He has also served as the president of the King County Chapter on two occasions.
Mike has been awarded the Five Star Mortgage Professional Award for the following years: 2009, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. The award is based on customer satisfaction and is given to a small number of mortgage professionals in the Seattle area. The annual award lists are published on their website and in Seattle Magazine.
Mike believes in providing highly detailed and informative service to ensure that his clients pick the right product and pricing for their needs. He explains that within the last several years, the way that a mortgage broker is compensated has changed. Previously, mortgage brokers would receive a Yield Spread Premium (YSP). The lender would issue a YSP to the loan originator or broker to cover their fee, and this credit would vary from loan to loan. Some mortgage companies, including IMG, would use part of the YSP from the lender to cover the borrower's fees. This is how we came up with our website name - "wepaythefees.com."
Now, our lender paid compensation is paid to us based on the same percentage of the loan amount for each borrower. Regardless of which option a client chooses, our profit does not change with the lender that is used. Any lender credit that is above our compensation goes to you - our client - to cover any third-party fees and pre-paid items. Instead of "we pay the fees," it is now the lender paying you a credit to cover the fees.
Mike prides himself on his outstanding customer service and ensures that each client understands all their options, so they can make an informed decision.
