Dave is a well known financial educator, author of High Tide and contributing author of 21st Century Wealth. For over 30 years, Dave has been teaching investors age 55+ how to preserve their assets, increase their income, and reduce income taxes. Dave was featured on NBC 25 every weeknight at 6PM, discussing the daily market wrap up. Many area retirees have used Dave’s advice to enjoy a financially independent retirement. Dave and his team take great pride in being Fiduciary Advisors who represent clients back to the financial industry! 

Dave is a Chartered Financial Consultant®, a designation awarded only to experienced Advisors who have completed a 10-course program of study, through the American College in Pennsylvania, focusing on Tax, Investment, Risk Management, Retirement and Estate Planning. He is an approved member of the International Association of Registered Financial Planners and the Society of Financial Service Professionals. Every year since 2011, Dave has been awarded the Detroit Five Star Wealth Manager award. Only the top 7% of advisory firms qualify for the award. Dave teaches Retirement Planning Classes at various colleges, including MSU Education Center, Wayne State University and Oakland Community College. He was a key note speaker at the Michigan Association of CPA's Annual Conference.

Dave’s latest book, High Tide, A Practical Guide for Affluent Retirees to Protect, Profit and Prosper from the Coming Storm, talks specifically on the important challenges todays retirees are facing and some new cutting-edge solutions to address those challenges. He teaches you in this easy to read book how to take the steps necessary to achieve your successful retirement.

Dave is a contributing author of 21st Century Wealth, an easy-to-read book for those already retired or those planning for a financially rewarding retirement.

Family/Church

Dave and his wife Cherie are the proud parents of two sons and six grandchildren. 

They are active members of Trinity Baptist Church, where Dave has served on the Deacon’s board for over 10 years.

 

Our Story

Retirement Resources was founded on 4 core principles. Learn how we have rooted our business in these principles to best serve you.

After two years of representing one of the nation’s largest financial services companies, David Boike came to the conclusion that there had to be a better way to help people achieve their financial goals. His desire to make a difference in his clients’ financial lives was hampered by restrictions imposed on him by his employer. He came to realize that he needed to become an independent financial consultant that was free to represent the client instead of a company.

Against the advice of his manager, David stepped out on his own, and, with the help of his wife, Cherie, he founded Boike Financial Services in 1982. As their clientele and business grew, they decided to focus their attention on helping people plan for and prosper in retirement. They changed the firm’s name to Retirement Resources to better display their purpose.

Along the way, David and Cherie’s two sons, DJ and Jake, joined the family business and are now vital to its success.

Unfavorable feedback may have been discovered through a check of complaints registered with a regulatory authority or complaints registered through FSP's consumer complaint process; feedback may not be representative of any one client's experience; C. Individually contributed to a financial settlement of a customer complaint; D. Filed for personal bankruptcy within the past 11 years; E.
