Dear Miss Halliday: My name is Terry Babilla. I have lived in Dallas since 1987 and have lived in the same home since March 1995. I am married and have 3 children. My wife is focused on rearing the children and I am busy running a company with approximately 900 employees. Life is a bit crazy now but very good. We weren't looking to add anything else to our busy schedule until my wife located a home for sale in Preston Hollow. Ann Stewart of Ebby Halliday Realtors was the broker representing the seller. She disclosed to us that she had represented the seller eleven years ago when the seller originally purchased the home and that she and the seller were friends. We were not represented by a broker at this time as I typically represent myself. However, we liked Ann because she was not pushy and seemed to have a lot of integrity. In addition, we knew we could not afford to put anything else on our plate. Ann offered to represent "both sides" in this transaction. We were more than hesitant due to the potential conflict of interest that occurs when someone represents both sides of a transaction. She also offered to represent us in the sale of our home. We knew we would need help on the sale of our home. Consequently, we retained Ann to represent us on both the purchase of our new home and the sale of our existing home. We recently closed both transactions. There were a lot of "issues" that had to be addressed with respect to both transactions (several repairs, lender delays, appraisal issues, staging, crazy requests from inspector reports, etc.). Ann took the lead on each of these issues and saw each one through to a successful resolution. The reason I am writing this letter is to tell you that Ann's customer service was unprecedented. She met with us at nights, early mornings, weekends, etc. She worked around our busy schedule and was extremely helpful in lining up and meeting contractors with respect to repairs that had to be made. She was always prompt and courteous. She has terrific follow through. Her customer service was so good that I offered her a job. She declined because she said she loves what she does. You are very fortunate to have Ann on your team. The best compliment I can give to Ann is that I will hire her in my next real estate transaction.
