PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Matt Prewett
http://www.BetterBroker.com
Matt Prewett began his Real Estate career when he attained his license in November 2004. He began with a boutique local Real Estate firm, and learned to build a referral-based business through his sphere of influence. Matt was recruited to Realty Austin at the beginning of 2012 after working for eight years at Hindsite. He started the Prewett Team in February 2012 by hiring his first full-time team member, Melissa Osborne, to assist with Client Relations and Contract to Closing. A licensed Realtor, Melissa still practices as an agent as well, doing business primarily in her home territory of deep South Austin, Kyle, Buda, San Marcos, and Wimberley. She has worked in the Real Estate business since 2001, including positions as a Transaction Coordinator at a local brokerage, an Escrow Assistant at Independence Title Company, and most recently as a licensed agent with that same previous brokerage. Matt and Melissa share a combined 25 years of experience in the Real Estate industry in the Austin and Central Texas areas.
Matt has built his business and database of clientele with a referral-based business philosophy that emphasizes his core philosophies of continuous personal growth; setting, meeting, and exceeding expectations; and the desire to establish long-term relationships with his clients in order to be resource for life, not just one transaction. With an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a Masters degree in Accounting, both from prestigious Rhodes College, Matt’s educational background, and specifically his financial analysis skills, allows him to excel with investors in addition to owner-occupants. Matt's professional accomplishments include the attainment of a Texas Real Estate Broker's license, a license held by less than 1% of Realtors because of the education, training and experience required.
A native of Austin, Texas and a graduate of Westwood High in Northwest Austin, Matt has witnessed Austin blossom from a hidden gem to one of the fastest-growing cities in America. He began his real estate career in 2004 when his previous broker recruited him into the business from the accounting world. Since then, he has closed over 500 sales and 300 leases, including more than $75 million in gross sales over the last five years. He attributes his success, in part, to the extensive network of relationships that he has developed through his multiple involvements; creative marketing strategies; savvy negotiating skills; broad demographic knowledge; and his commitment to hard work, excellent customer service and an enjoyable experience for every client. Having grown up in Austin, Matt has a deep understanding of the majority of the market niches in the area, including North Austin where he grew up, Central Austin where he lived for five years, and Southwest Austin where he currently resides.
Matt began honing his leadership skills in college, where he served as a two-year Captain of the Rhodes College soccer team and a member and pledge trainer of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Still heavily involved in the soccer community in Austin, Matt is in his eleventh year as Head Coach of the University of Texas Men’s Soccer Club and holds a USSF ‘A’ National Coaching License, the highest soccer coaching license issued through the United States Soccer Federation . He recently completed his second term as President of the Austin Men’s Soccer Association, the largest amateur adult soccer league in Austin with over 3500 player-members, and is now serving as Treasurer in order to stay involved with the league.
Matt understands that the purchase of a property is one of the largest single purchases that most people make in their lifetime. He enjoys acting as a sounding board for important decisions, and assisting his clients through the entire process of their transition--whether it be buying their dream home, leasing a condo downtown, downsizing without sacrificing lifestyle, investing for short term cash flows and/or long-term appreciation, or thinking through options for a lake house or vacation home.
Matt and his lovely wife Adrienne reside in Southwest Austin with their three daughters. In addition to his involvements in the soccer community, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, biking, working out at the gym, watching sports, exploring Austin’s restaurant scene, hunting, fishing, and almost anything else that one can do outdoors, for which the options are plentiful in the Central Texas area.
