Before becoming a Loan Originator, I had a really negative experience getting a home loan for myself. This understanding made me determined to educate my borrowers what their options are and to strive to make the process of obtaining a mortgage easy and comfortable.
The part of my job I like most is working with my borrowers to find the best product for their individual situation. In today’s mortgage climate, the process has become laden with paperwork, so I try to explain why documentation is necessary. I respond better if I understand the “why” and I believe others do too.
With over 10 years in the mortgage field, I just tell it like it is. I share what I know with my clients and freely tell them when I don’t know something and need to look it up. In the fast moving waters of the mortgage business, no one can know everything. One gigantic advantage of working for Catalyst Lending is that I have access to a incredible wealth of expertise from people who really care.
Catalyst Lending has a host of Underwriters, Managers, Closers and Funders who have a deep treasure of accumulated knowledge and experience so if a way can be found to help a borrower, I trust our team to get it done. Unlike a typical mortgage brokerage where all loans are sent out to wholesale companies for underwriting, Catalyst Lending underwrites and funds their loans. Also, should a borrower need a unique type of mortgage that isn’t available to us, we have the ability to send loans to banks with specific niches. This is the best of both mortgage worlds for our clients.
I believe my gifting is in interpersonal relationships, management and math. This combination of skills works well in my vocation. I worry about each loan, each lock, and each closing, as if it were for my family. Talking about honesty and integrity is one thing, living it is another.
