Professional Approach

David E. Stone is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional with over twenty-five years of experience in the financial services industry. His expertise is in designing and building a comprehensive financial plan encompassing all the elements of the client's financial picture. His clients are primarily pre-retirees, affluent senior retirees and small business owners.

David helps his clients succeed financially with a deep understanding of financial strategy as well as a personal understanding of clients’ goals. He believes in the Power of a Plan and applies it to all aspects of his practice, and his clients appreciate his insight on creating, preserving, and protecting their assets to leave a lasting legacy.

David is the author of The Power of a Plan: How a Personal CFO Can Help Business Owners & Professionals Prosper and co-hosts The Golden State Report on Sacramento's AM 1380: The Answer.

He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University and a Master of Business Administration degree from California State University, Sacramento. He earned the credential of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner in 1998. He is also a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®), Certified Business Exit Consultant (CBEC®), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and holder of Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA): Series, 6, 7, 24, 63 registrations as well as a California Insurance License (#0B01934).

David formerly held a California real estate license, giving him unique perspective in advising clients on real estate matters. He is a past member of the Board of Directors for The Financial Planning Association of Northern California, and mentor for the BYU Marriott School of Business.

David has been happily married for over 30 years. He and his wife have 5 children and 3 grandchildren. He is actively involved in serving his community and in his church. In his free time he enjoys travelling, snow skiing and musical performance.

Wealth managers do not pay a fee to be considered or placed on the final list of Five Star Wealth Managers. The award is based on 10 objective criteria. Eligibility criteria-required: 1. Credentialed as a registered investment adviser (RIA) or a registered investment adviser representative; 2. Actively licensed as a RIA or as a principal of a registered investment adviser firm for a minimum of 5 years; 3. Favorable regulatory and complaint history review (As defined by FSP, the wealth manager has not; A. Been subject to a regulatory action that resulted in a license being suspended or revoked, or payment of a fine; B. Had more than a total of three settled or pending complaints filed against them and/or a total of five settled, pending, dismissed or denied complaints with any regulatory authority or FSP's consumer complaint process. Unfavorable feedback may have been discovered through a check of complaints registered with a regulatory authority or complaints registered through FSP's consumer complaint process; feedback may not be representative of any one client's experience; C. Individually contributed to a financial settlement of a customer complaint; D. Filed for personal bankruptcy within the past 11 years; E. Been terminated from a financial services firm within the past 11 years; F. Been convicted of a felony); 4. Fulfilled their firm review based on internal standards; 5. Accepting new clients. Evaluation criteria-considered: 6. One-year client retention rate; 7. Five-year client retention rate; 8. Non-institutional discretionary and/or non-discretionary client assets administered; 9.
