Illona Gerlock has been a licensed Denver Realtor since 1996, since her son, Dan D. Gerlock, was 5 years old. Illona and Dan sold their first home together when Dan Gerlock was only seven years old. One of Illona’s buyers had viewed over 100 properties, but still couldn’t decide which one to buy after he had narrowed it down to four, so he asked Dan which one he thought was best. Dan simply replied, “this one because it has a wet bar!” The buyer agreed with Dan and purchased the home that same day.

Illona and Dan have been partners ever since, working together as a dynamic duo. Their close relationship and love of real estate has truly molded them as friends and business partners. This is one of the main reasons why working with Gerlock Homes feels like working with good friends. Illona was a great advocate, mentor, and teacher for Dan. She guided him through his real estate licensing in 2012, and helped make him the great agent he is today.

Greg Andrews joined Gerlock Homes as Marketing Director in 2016. He has grown to be a tremendous asset to the team in every facet of the business. Illona has been a resident of Denver since 1988. She is an Army “brat” and uses her military background to help bring families home. She is a certified USAA and NFCU Realtor. She has been in Residential Real Estate sales for 22 years with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. She was awarded the “Shining Star” by Floyd Wickman (Sweat Hogs Training) in her first year in Real Estate. Her clients have honored her by nominating her for the 5280 Magazine’s 5-Star Realtor Award since 2010. Her most coveted award, however, was being named “Best Mom EVER” by her son, Dan when he was 12, and, she has the plaque to prove it. She was thrilled when Dan decided that he wanted to get this real estate license 6 years ago and join her in the family business. After all, he had been in the business unofficially since he was six years old.

Illona is ranked among the top 10% of real estate brokers in the country. Her designations include CRB, CRS, SRES and CNE, however, she tells her clients that her greatest achievement is that nearly 80% of her clients come from past client referrals. She strives to ensure that all her clients are treated like family and believes that the real estate closing is not the end of the relationship, but the beginning.

She is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where she studied business and accounting. Yes, she is a blonde, left-handed, “Aggie”.

She is going to become a Dolphin trainer when she finally retires, but that is not in the foreseeable future since she absolutely adores her buyers and sellers and feels blessed to be helping them to get to their next step in life.

She loves having time with her son, being walked by her ferocious Yorkie, Bode, and laughing as often as possible (usually at herself).

Her mottos in life are “Failure is not an option”, and “Play Hard, Work Harder” and most importantly “They don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care”.

When she can get away, she prefers a quiet sunny beach and the ocean!

Dan D. Gerlock is a Colorado native, and has been a licensed Real Estate agent in Colorado since 2013. He has learned the trade from his best friend, business partner, and Mom, Illona Gerlock. With 20+ years of insight, her teachings have strengthened his knowledge, and allowed him to become one of the top agents in Denver. 2017 was his best year to date, closing 40 transactions at $13.42 million in production. In 2018, Dan was named one of Coldwell Banker’s 30 Under 30–one of the top 30 brokers under the age of 30 internationally for Coldwell Banker.

The most important aspect of his business is making sure his clients are taken care of and truly protected–that they feel he has served them as if they were close friends or family. He is motivated by helping people and making an impact not only in the real estate market, but the entire community. He applies integrity and fairness to all aspects of real estate, at all times. There are tens of thousands of agents in Colorado, but what makes Dan different is his genuine compassion and care for his clients. No agent will work harder for you than Dan.

The highlight of his day is being out in the field, with his clients. Dan is a die hard Broncos fan and overall sports enthusiast. He is a “foodie” and hardly goes a week without eating sushi. In his spare time he enjoys hunting, fishing, snowboarding, and family time.
