Shanahan has been awarded the Five Star Home/Auto Insurance Professional designation annually since the program’s inception appearing in Texas Monthly magazine (2011-2017.) His team makes it their daily business to present insurance recommendations that are always in the best interest of his clients. He offers State Farm’s premier products and services in the Austin Four Points community and throughout Texas.
In the Family
Shanahan, who is passionate about the business, grew up in a State Farm family. His father was an attorney with the company and several of his relatives on both sides of the family are associated with State Farm. Collectively, they have logged over 200 years in the insurance industry. After graduating from the University of Oregon, Shanahan began his career as a State Farm Fire and Casualty Adjuster and was known for his expertise on the national catastrophic loss team. He traveled the country working with policyholders suffering from major losses in the aftermath of hurricanes, hail storms, mud slides, tornadoes, extensive fires and floods, etc. It didn’t take long for him to learn how critical it is to be insured correctly. He opened his business in order to join the impressive Independent State Farm Agency professionals that have been insuring clients for those unanticipated life events for almost 100 years.
Giving Back to the Community
An Austin resident since 1985, Shanahan is committed to helping youth in the area. He has supported the Special Olympics, Lions Club youth programs, local private and public schools, and devoted countless hours and support to Little League Baseball and Junior Golf. He is a member of the West Austin Chamber of Commerce and a former board member of the Austin Northwest Little League.
