Professional Approach
John Bodnar, CFP®, CIMA®, founded Bodnar Financial Advisors in 1988 as a full-service financial planning firm for individuals and families in the greater New Jersey area.
The company motto is simple: Life’s too short to worry about money. John’s professional style puts clients at ease as they work together to develop a financial strategy for major life events including marriage, kids, death, divorce, layoffs, retirement, downsizing, and more with peace of mind. Life is complicated enough—you shouldn’t have to add money worries to the mix!
Each financial plan is customized to the personal goals of the client. John doesn’t just give advice, he takes the time to educate each client on the “why” behind each part of their financial plan. He motivates clients to work toward their financial goals, because without a commitment to implementing the financial plan, it’s just a piece of paper.
John believes investing is a long-term commitment. He coaches clients to avoid the daily panics of the 24-hour news cycle and navigate down markets with their plans intact. He meets with clients annually to re-evaluate the plan and make sure it is still appropriate for the client’s age, cash flow, risk tolerance, and liquidity needs.
His flexible, friendly, and professional approach to financial planning is what keeps people coming back. After more than 30 years in the business, John has the privilege of working with the children and grandchildren of his original clients.
John is an nine-time winner of the prestigious Five Star Wealth Manager Award recognized by Five Star Professional, and was recognized as 2013 Advisor of the Year by the New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors (NAIFA).
He is a former treasurer and president of the Northwest Jersey chapter of NAIFA, a current registered representative of LPL Financial and holds numerous securities registrations.
John has been a frequent guest lecturer at New Jersey colleges and universities, community organizations, and Fortune 100 companies. His advice has been featured in national news publications, including: Forbes, MarketWatch, Money Magazine, TheStreet, Newsday, U.S. News & World Report, and more.
