Additionally she has earned the respect of her peers through her expertise in restoring neglected vintage houses and barns – carefully and professionally bringing them back to their original glory. Maria has been widely published in magazines and newspapers. She is heartily dedicated to community service and immerses herself in fund raising whenever she sees a need or opportunity. She is a founding board member of Teen Cancer America, Inc. a charity created by Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend of The Who to improve the quality of life and outcomes for teens and young adults with cancer and to create units in hospitals throughout the United Sates. Autism is also near and dear to her heart and she strongly supports the cause. She enjoys downtime with her husband Glenn, their adult children and three grandchildren.
