Meet David
David Mayhew is a residential real estate agent.
THE HAMPTONS VS. MID-SHORE CONNECTICUT FROM MILFORD AND EAST:
NO CONTEST!
The Hamptons: 2 hours from Manhattan, traffic jams, helicopter noise, overcrowded beaches, Kardashians. Milford to Old Saybrook and beyond: 2 hours from Manhattan, manageable traffic and great public transportation, peace and quiet, cultural pursuits, great beaches, and NO KARDASHIANS!
Whether you're looking for a full-time luxury residence with spectacular views of Long Island Sound or a modest weekend cottage minutes from the beach or on a tranquil pond, the Central Connecticut Shoreline probably has what you're looking for.
Urban dwellers, in particular, have found the towns between the Housatonic and Connecticut Rivers, about one-and-a-half to two hours from midtown Manhattan and no farther from Times Square than the Hamptons, to be as charming, more relaxed, easier to reach by train and car, and considerably more affordable than their East End Long Island counterparts.
Explore current listings in New Haven County Shoreline towns such as the classic New England villages of Milford, West Haven, Branford, Guilford, and Madison (all one-and-a-half to two hours from Times Square) or venture farther up the Shoreline to the Middlesex County towns of Clinton, Westbrook and Old Saybrook on Long Island Sound, or up the Connecticut River to enjoy the old-world charm of Essex, Chester, and Deep River (all two to two-and-a-half hours from Times Square):
All of these areas offer easy access to public transportation, plentiful restaurants for quick bites or fine dining, abundant live performing arts opportunities, private town beaches and/or nearby public beaches, including marinas for your fishing boat or private yacht.
Too much information to sift through? Call my private number, 203.533.5621, and I'll help you sort through the opportunities. Or pay me a visit and I'll be glad to give you and your family an area tour.
David is a Residential Sales Associate in the Guilford Regional office. He has extensive knowledge of Shoreline real estate and luxury homes along Long Island Sound. David has been a Top Producer for the company several times and is also a Five Star Professional.
David has lived in the Greater New Haven area off and on since 1986, most recently as a Guilford resident for 10 years. He also has a residence in downtown Hartford.
Prior to joining Pearce Real Estate, David spent 40 years in marketing and public relations, primarily for performing and visual arts organizations, including publicizing Broadway plays and musicals, dance companies, and museums.
In addition to his current work in residential real estate sales, he continues to provide marketing and public relations services for the performing arts through his company, David Mayhew Communications, which he established a decade ago.
Area clients have included Long Wharf Theatre and the International Festival of Arts & Ideas in New Haven, as well as the legendary Westport Country Playhouse during its renovation under the leadership of movie stars Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman.
Community activities include more than 20 years as a volunteer for Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic (RFB&D) recording textbooks for students and teachers who are blind and visually impaired. David also served for several years on the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Unit of RFB&D. He currently serves on the Board of Dirctors of LEAP (Leadership, Education, Athletics in Partnership), an organization that provides mentoring and opportunities for young people in some of New Haven's most economically-challenged neighborhoods.
